Oman Heads to Pan Arab Junior Golf Championship 2026

Oman's Junior National Team departs for Cairo to compete at the Pan Arab Junior Golf Championship 2026, 8 to 10 October.

Pan Arab Junior Golf Championship 2026: Dates and Venues

The Egyptian Golf Federation is hosting this year's event, together with the Arab Golf Federation. In total, young golfers from 13 Arab nations will take part.

First, the opening ceremony takes place on Wednesday 7 October. Then, the competition runs from 8 to 10 October. Rounds take place at two venues: Madinaty Golf Club and Mirage City Golf Club.

A Key Stage for Young Golfers

The Pan Arab Junior is one of the biggest events on the regional junior calendar. Players compete in four age groups: Under 13, Under 16, Under 18 and Under 21.

In addition, results count toward the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). As a result, every round in Cairo matters well beyond this week.

Meet the Squad

Oman is sending eight players to Cairo. Specifically, three will play in Under 13, three in Under 16 and two in Under 21.

"We've been working really hard since last year's Pan Arab," said Jonathan Bartlett, Head Coach. "We're really looking forward to succeeding and reaching our goals this year."

Moreover, this trip follows a busy season for Oman's juniors. For example, the team competed at the Asia Pacific Junior Championship in Colombo. They also joined a training camp and Junior Open in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Each event gave the players tournament pressure and new course conditions. Above all, it gave them strong international competition.

Why This Championship Matters

"Our goal in this tournament is not just to compete, but to elevate Oman's standing in golf across the region and inspire younger generations," said Faiz Mohammed Riaz, Vice Chairman of the Oman Golf Association. "Being part of the Pan Arab Championships is a great opportunity to gain experience, and we believe these championships will play a crucial role in developing and promoting golf throughout Oman."

For the Oman Golf Association, events like this shape the future of Omani golf. Competing abroad teaches young players to handle travel and unfamiliar greens. Furthermore, they learn what it means to wear their country's colours. These lessons stay with them long after the final putt.
