The stage is set. On the evening of 7 October, the Pan Arab Junior Golf opening ceremony took place at Madinaty Golf Club in Cairo. Young golfers from 13 Arab nations came together to mark the start of the championship.
Pan Arab Junior Golf Opening Ceremony in Cairo
The ceremony was held in the presence of the Governor of Cairo, Dr. Ibrahim Saber. Leaders from Arab, Asian and African golf federations also attended.
The Egyptian Golf Federation hosted the event, together with the Arab Golf Federation. This is the second year in a row that Egypt has hosted the championship.
Oman Walks Out Behind the Flag
One by one, the teams were called forward. Each nation walked out in line behind its flag.
Then Oman's name was called. Our Junior National Team stepped out with pride, ready to represent the Sultanate on one of the region's biggest junior stages.
Representing Oman
Oman was represented at the ceremony by Faiz Mohammed Riaz, Vice Chairman of the Oman Golf Association. He was joined by Ahmed Faisal Al-Jahdhami, Secretary General of the Oman Golf Association.
"Our goal in this tournament is not just to compete, but to elevate Oman's standing in golf across the region and inspire younger generations," said Faiz Mohammed Riaz.
Eight Players, Three Categories
Oman is competing with eight players this year. Specifically, three play in Under 13, three in Under 16 and two in Under 21.
In addition, results from the championship count toward the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). As a result, every round in Cairo carries real weight for the players' development.
Thank You, Egypt
We thank the Egyptian Golf Federation and the Arab Golf Federation for their warm welcome and excellent organisation. Competition runs from 8 to 10 October at Madinaty Golf Club and Mirage City Golf Club.
